Then & Now respects your private space. The app is designed around data minimization: the current version requires no account and does not ask you to send your journal to us.

Scope
This policy applies to the iOS app Then & Now, provided by HaoZuPeng, and explains how the current version handles information.

Data we do not collect
The current version requires no account and does not collect or send the following data to the developer:
- Your journal entries, moods, reflections, or expectations;
- Your name, email address, phone number, or other contact information;
- Precise location, photos, camera, microphone, or contacts;
- Advertising identifiers, cross-app tracking data, analytics, or user profiles;
- Crash logs or diagnostic data received by the developer.
If cloud sync, accounts, analytics, advertising, or other network services are added in the future, this policy and the App Store privacy information will be updated before those features become available.

How your data is stored
Your entries are stored in the app's local storage on your iPhone or iPad and are not transferred to servers operated by the developer. Whether an Apple system backup includes app data depends on your Apple Account, iCloud, and iOS backup settings. The developer cannot access or control those backups.
The current version does not provide developer-operated cloud backup, accounts, or cross-device sync.

Retention, deletion, and recovery
Content remains on your device until you edit or clear it in the app, or uninstall the app. Uninstalling normally removes the app's local data.
Because the developer does not hold a cloud copy, we cannot remotely view, restore, or delete your journal. Before changing devices, uninstalling the app, or erasing a device, confirm that any system backup you need is complete.

Third-party services and purchases
The app does not include advertising, third-party analytics, or social tracking. App downloads, updates, payments, and refunds are handled by Apple and the App Store and are subject to the Apple Privacy Policy.

Security
The app relies on the iOS app sandbox and device security features to protect local data. We recommend using a device passcode or biometrics and keeping iOS up to date. No local storage method can guarantee absolute security if a device is unlocked by another person or the operating system is compromised.

Children's privacy
The app does not actively collect personal data from any user and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If future features involve data collection, we will assess age-related requirements and update this policy before release.

Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when features or legal requirements change. The revised policy will show a new effective date. If a change materially affects how data is handled, an appropriate notice will be provided in the app.
